Marcia Williams
Lead Leadership Coach
Marcia Williams is a former middle and high school principal with over 20 years of school leadership experience. Prior to her retirement in December 2021, Marcia founded and led two of Michigan’s top-performing middle and high schools, University Middle and High School Academies (UMHSA). Since 2012, UMHSA has been recognized by US News and World Report as one of America’s Best High Schools. Throughout her career, Marcia pursued her passion for learning and serving. In 2016, she was elected to
the College Board’s Midwestern Regional Council, and in 2018 she was selected to represent the Midwestern Region as a representative to the National Academic Assembly Council.

As she advocated to expand equity and access for underserved students, Marcia was recognized for her collaboration with community partners. Consequently, she was recognized by the University of Michigan GEAR UP as an Outstanding Partner, the Michigan PTA with the Honorary Lifetime Membership Award, and named the 2018 Michigan Student Leadership Principal of the Year. Marcia is a member of the
College Board’s National Pre-AP Faculty; in this capacity, she co-facilitates training for school leaders from across the United States. In 2018, Marcia received her coaching certificate from the Coaching and Positive Psychology Institute. Since then, she’s partnered with clients as they pursue personal and professional goals. Currently, Marcia is the Employee Engagement and Success Supervisor at MotorCity Casino Hotel.
