Dr. Pamela Yancy-Taylor

Senior Vice President and the ACHIEVE Project Director

Dr. Pamela Yancy-Taylor is the Chief Instructional Officer and Project Director at The Center for Strategic Leadership and Organizational Coherence. Prior to joining the team, Dr. Yancy-Taylor served as Instructional Designer at Baptist Health Sciences University and the Senior Director for Instructional Leadership with the Arkansas Academy for Educational Equity at the University of Arkansas. Pamela served as Principal with Shelby  County Schools in Memphis, Tennessee for 10 years and has more than 20 years of teaching, training and development, and program planning and management experience in some of the neediest schools in the city of Memphis, Tennessee. 

 

Throughout her career, Dr. Yancy-Taylor has served as a Pre-K and elementary teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, Instructional Facilitator, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Additionally, as the Senior Director of Instructional Leadership for the Arkansas Academy for Educational Equity, she set the vision and short-term and long-term goals for the instructional program while serving cross-functionally with the operations program. She created the curriculum for in-service teachers and developed the framework for recruiting and hiring quality university staff and K-12 teachers to the state of Arkansas from across the United States. Additionally, she trained and provided intensive coaching for content directors while cultivating, building, and strengthening collaborative relationships with school and district leaders as well as across the university population. In addition to these tasks, she developed and delivered small and whole group professional development sessions for graduate students in the program.

Dr. Yancy-Taylor attended The University of Memphis, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1994. She also earned a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction, an Educational Specialist degree in Leadership, and a Doctor of Education degree in Administration and Supervision from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee. Pamela is married to Mr. William Taylor and they have two children, Sierra and Victoria.
